Hey everyone,
It's been a busy start to 2026 and I wanted to fill you in on what's been happening behind the scenes... and what's coming.
Store & Documentation Updates You may have noticed the store got a refresh with new professional product photos. Some photos are still in the works. I've also overhauled the user guides for the BP-Y14L and BP-Y24L, with the BP-K75L guide on the way. On top of that, I've put together new user guide videos covering the basics of servicing the batteries. If you've been on the fence about servicing your own cells, these should help. All documents and videos are found under the 'Documents' tab on the site. I've also simplified the product names across the store to make them easier to find when searching. Furthermore, I've rewritten the product descriptions across the store. Specs, features, and compatibility are clearer, more detailed, and do a much better job of spelling out exactly what you're getting.
BP-Y14L v8 Is Here Version 8 of the BP-Y14L is now shipping. The locking tabs are easier to release and I've changed the tolerances slightly to better accommodate the full range of radios this pack fits. If you want a replacement shell, you can find them under the replacement parts section of the store.
BP-K75L All future orders of the BP-K75L will now include an extra locking tab.
Manufacturing Improvements I've updated the contact PCBs on both the BP-Y14L and BP-K75L. These changes streamline assembly on our end, helping my team keep pace with demand without cutting corners.
Dayton Hamvention We're confirmed for Dayton! You'll find us in the flea market area at table space WR5. If you're making the trip, stop by! I'd love to put a face to a callsign.
A Couple of Teasers... First: I've hired a fellow ham for a custom charging board built specifically for W0AEZ Radio Gear LLC. When this board is officially released, it's going to significantly simplify assembly for both my build team and all future HT battery kit offerings. More details to come.
Second: custom boxes are on the way! They'll make for a much better unboxing experience and keep your order safer in transit. I'm expecting them in time for Dayton, with all shipments after the event going out in the new packaging.
Finally, and this is the big one: I'm working on an Icom battery. Test units are already out for validation. I'm planning to make the official announcement and release at the Hamfest, so Dayton will be worth the trip for this alone. I'll release more details a little closer to the event.
Current wait time for orders is just about 2 weeks, with most orders shipping within a few days. If you've been waiting for a battery, now would be a great time to order!
That's the rundown. Thanks for sticking with us; more to come soon!
