BP-K75L: High-Capacity USB-C Battery for Kenwood TH-D74 & TH-D75
More Power. Modern Charging. Built to Last.
The BP-K75L is a 5,000mAh (36Wh) extended-life battery pack that replaces the stock 1,820mAh Kenwood battery and delivers 2.7× the capacity. Charge it with any USB-C cable, swap the cells when they wear out, and finally use your D74 or D75 all day without carrying spares.
Not compatible with the TH-D72 or the stock desk cradle.
Designed, printed, and hand-assembled in Colorado, USA.
Kenwood TH-D74A and TH-D75. Not compatible with the TH-D72.
What's Included:
(1) BP-K75L battery pack, fully assembled
(1) Belt clip spacer with screws
(1) Spare battery latch
Design Details:
The shell includes a metal hinge, an included belt clip spacer, and a fix for the low-power default behavior found in earlier revisions. The locking mechanism is different from the stock battery. Do not bend the latch outward, as this will damage it. If you need help with installation, watch the installation video.
Each battery is 3D-printed and hand-assembled. Minor texture variations are cosmetic and do not affect performance.
Charging Notes:
Not all USB-C cables are created equal. If charging doesn't start, try a different cable. USB-A to USB-C cables are the most universally reliable. PPS-capable chargers will negotiate the optimal charge rate automatically.
Recommended Charger:
Any USB-C charger rated 15W or higher will charge the battery at full speed. Lower-wattage chargers will still work, they'll just charge slower. PPS (Programmable Power Supply) chargers will automatically negotiate the optimal charge rate but are not required. A USB-A to USB-C cable with a standard USB-A wall adapter also works and is the most universally reliable option.
Charging Indicator:
Red + Blue (may appear purple): Charging
Red only: Fully charged
Blue only: Slow charge
Red flashing: Cable or charger issue. Swap the cable.
User-Serviceable Cells:
The BP-K75L is designed for long-term ownership. When cell capacity eventually degrades, you can open the pack and replace the Samsung 50E 21700 cells yourself. No need to buy a whole new battery.
Printable Replacement Parts:
Want to print your own replacement parts? ASA or ABS filament strongly recommended.

I love this bigger battery. The radio is more steady especially when using a larger (longer) antenna. Runs for days and looks great.

Using Lenore TH-D75
Using the TH-D75 in the Tacoma Washington area. It’s a true performer and modified MARS makes it even better. Using the Smiley Tri-band antenna. It’s a must in a large metro area.

D75A Battery Replacement
Thank you to W0AEZ Radio Gear for a great product. It’s a big step above the stock Kenwood battery. It gives me much longer battery life. Thank you again, you make great products.

Very solid battery for the D75
With a radio that is such a battery hog, this extended battery really helps. Previously I could barely get through the day on the factory battery, but with this one I can easily get through the day with no worry of running out.
There were a couple of very minor flaws in the printing, but nothing that affects the usage or integrity of the battery.
I also drilled a small hold on the back of the case and filled with a dab of hot glue so I can see the charging status while the battery is still on the radio.
Overall very happy with it.
