Used with my Yaesu FT-5, this battery outlasts both the stock battery, and the available after-market 3800 mAh battery, by several hours. It is also USB "C" chargeable, but note that it does not work in a drop-in charger. It does make the radio a little more bulky, but if you need more power, it does the job. Also of note is that I found WOAEZ customer service to be excellent.
I love my FT3 but the battery life of the factory battery is dismal. Yaesu should just buy this design and make this the default battery they supply with this radio. The users would actually enjoy the radio from the box this way. Thanks for a great battery Kevin. This is a winner.

I have purchased 3 batteries for my FT5DR. During hurricane Helene and Milton, I was able to use the radio to stay in touch with the local hurricane net and SKYWARN net. While listening to the nets, each battery lasted around 24 -30 hours before they needed a charge. FYI the battery meter on the FT5DR is not very accurate, it showed a “one bar status” for almost 10 hours.

It’s really the battery Yaesu should have made. It feels good in the hand, and the battery life is great. I also like that I can replace the cells when they wear out.

I received my battery this last week and I started a runtime trial 2 days ago and I tapped out at around 30 hrs of mostly just listening before charging again. The battery wasn't dead yet but I needed it for an event the next day. I have to say that I am very pleased since my 2 stock packs won't make it through half that time. Thanks Kevin and I'd like to get another pack when they are available.
I've had the BP-Y14L for almost two months now and I really enjoy the extra capacity. This runs my Yaesu for many, many hours. Now that I have been using it as a primary battery, I just top it off when convenient and never worry about it. I just pick it up on the way out the door. Very happy with the battery and happy that the internal batteries are replaceable when that time comes too. Thanks!
This battery is terrific. It fits nice and snug and as a significant amount of operating time to my FT 5. Don’t hesitate to buy one. I have two and they are great products.

Just got mine this morning and its perfect. I showed it off at my club meeting tonight and everyone wants one. If you ever make one for the D75, Ill definitely buy it. The stock battery on that makes the stock 5d battery look like endurance equipment.
